The Employer Our client's portfolio consists of multiple share farms, all within an easy 30-minute commute from home. The business concentrates on wheat, chickpeas, and sorghum, with additional machinery employed during harvest. The farm provides safe, reliable and durable equipment, trucks, trailers, Toyota vehicles, a Rogator spray rig, a Weed-It spray rig, and John Deere tractors and headers. At this point, the team consists of 2 owner operators; this of course, can increase up to 5 people during Harvest season. The Role We are searching for an enthusiastic farmhand or couple, capable of progressive thinking and able to use initiative within reason. You will be involved in all daily aspects of this busy operation, including seeding, spraying and harvest. A good level of fitness is required to assist with the more general farm duties, including cattle husbandry and stock movements, feeding, infrastructure maintenance, water and fencing needs. Working dogs are not required to fulfil this role. The Offer The successful candidates will enjoy an industry-competitive hourly rate, inclusive of family or single shared accommodation in town. A vehicle is also supplied for work use. This role will commence as casual, but for the right person(s), it may lead to a full-time position, allowing for continuity of employment and additional work for family members, if available. Nestled between Emerald and Clermont on the scenic Gregory Highway, Capella offers essential services, including a primary and high school, pool, pubs, limited medical facilities, limited grocery stores, a post office, and a fuel station. Plus, with more advanced services, the vibrant town of Emerald—a central Queensland hub—is just a 40-minute drive away. The Ideal Candidate This role would suit an energetic, fit and capable person, with an overall passion for agriculture. The ability to be mechanically and livestock-minded, along with the willingness to learn, will therefore allow for varied skill levels.
